Linear Difference Systems on Partially Ordered Sets A subring of the incidence algebra of the time set acts on the state-module, and the resulting input and output functors lead to a realization theory for time-varying difference equations. The resulting canonical realizations can be computed explicitly and generalize the classical theory of weighting patterns.
