Methanogenesis in Mesophilic and Thermophilic Anaerobic Digesters: Monitoring and Control Based on Dts have led to a resurgence of interest in the anaerobic digestion system. Cillie et al. (1969) concluded that for waste waters with a COD of 4 g 1. or more anaerobic processes are cheaper, whilst at a COD of 20 g 1. anaerobic systems cost 25 % of equivalent aerobic processes.

The Application of Single Detector Magnetic Sector Mass Spectro- Meter Systems in Fermentation off-Gs of species dissolved in fermenter borth media (at ppm levels) membrane probes have been developed. By this means, parallel studies of off-gas and liquid can be caaried out allowing greater insight into the processes occuring.

Application of MS to Industrial Fermentatione, quasi-simultaneous analysis of several gases and volatile components in gas and liquid phases. Methods are elaborated for the off-line measurement of some non-volatile components. Problems and features of membrane inlets and multiprobe sampling are dealt with and examples of fermentation measurements are given.

The Use of Mass Spectrometry in the Screening of Microorganisms on Productivityal noise and the lack of high resolution (resolution power needed was 40.000). This article describes a fast GC-MS-MS method, using a simple, medium resolution double focussing mass spetrometer. This method has the advantage that no sample pretreatment is necessary, meaning the whole analysis may be performed in less than 5 minutes.
