CO Vibration Rotation Lines from Circumstellar Shells,a resolution of 3.5 km s., including CO lines from P(9) to R(14). In addition to the expected emission up to the expansion velocity of the envelope, both CO and .CO show evidence of high velocity features in the blue wing of the line, beyond the 15 km s. expansion velocity (Fig. 1).

CO is the most widely observed molecule and useful information has been gleaned from the observed rotational excitation, kinematics, time variability and spatial structure of the its lines.
