A preferential proliferation of T-lymphocytes, perhaps accompanied by a reduced life span, was however suggested by double labelling experiments.

Differentiation of Lymphoid Cells of the B Cell Series According to Membrane and Cytoplasmic Determable membrane IgM can be found, we investigated CLL cells for the presence of membrane-bound IgD. In all 18 cases studied, high proportions of cells bearing surface IgD and IgM could be found. In none of the 18 cases crystalline Ig inclusions could be detected.

Studies of the Mechanism of Growth Promotion of Lymphoma Cells by 2-Mercaptoethanol ,,m albumin can substitute for serum in the medium, but a higher concentration of 2-ME is required for growth. After charcoal treatment of the albumin less 2-ME is required. These experiments suggest that inhibition of the tumor cells is caused by a serum factor whose effect is antagonized by the thiol.

Studies on Lymphocyte Sensitization to Encephalitogenic Protein in Tumor Patients,y FIELD and CASPARY in 1970. Their test system was the Macrophage-Electrophoretic-Mobility-Test (MEMT). In 17 out of 18 patients with malignant disease we found a specific inhibition or enhancement of the migration area of lymphocytes of more than 15%.
