Vertebratesin the tufa and the later hillwash, was generally poor. Most small-mammal teeth had lost their cementum and dentine, so that only a fragile shell of enamel remained, and many were incomplete. Only a few of the larger bones, preserved within Late-glacial and early Post-glacial organic horizons, were in good condition.
