Data distribution and loop parallelization for shared-memory multiprocessors,ormance of the parallelization strategies generated. The tool (named PDDT) accepts programs written in Fortran77 and generates directives of shared memory programming models (like Power Fortran from SGI or Exemplar from Convex).

Global register allocation based on graph fusion,n may be better than what is obtained by a Chatin-style allocator. This algorithm uses execution probabilities, derived from either profiles or static estimates, to guide fusing interference graphs, allowing an easy integration of this register allocator into a region-based compiler.

Lock coarsening: Eliminating lock overhead in automatically parallelized object-based programs,omic operations. We have implemented this technique in the context of a parallelizing compiler for irregular, object-based programs. Experiments show these algorithms to be effective in reducing the lock overhead to negligible levels.
