This section therefore emphasises aspects peculiar to lamprophyre intrusions, which help to distinguish them from basaltic intrusions. Such aspects need to be considered at scales ranging from single bodies to entire dyke-swarms.

Economic Geology,tes and lamproites still credits them with economic status. Only the briefest of outlines can be given here, as recent reviews are available in some cases (see below), and the latest developments necessarily involve confidential information.
