Velocity Bias Effects,Flow velocity measurements by means of LDA method are based on random sampling of velocity events which occur when particles pass through the measurement volume. The available velocity sampling rate depends on particle concentration, particle size, flow velocity and other flow and optical parameters.

LDA Principles and Laser Optics,easurements. It is an optical method and hence tightly related to both the physical and geometrical optics. In order to depict the functionality of the LDA method, some physical properties of the light and the light wave propagation in medium will firstly be considered.

Fringe Distortion Effects,urement volume. The uniform fringe spacing can be achieved if the measurement volume that is formed by two laser beams coincides with two beam waists. Each deviation from this requirement will lead to fringe distortion in the measurement volume and hence to measurement errors.
