Changes in Interstellar Atomic Abundances from the Galactic Plane to the Halo,not seem to change appreciably. A likely explanation for the apparent increase of iron is the partial sputtering of material off the surfaces of dust grains by interstellar shocks. Another possibility might be that the ejecta from type I supernovae enrich the low density medium in the halo with iron.

On the Analysis of Motions Perpendicular to the Galactic Plane,one has succeeded in deriving a valid curve of the acceleration ..; typically the curve turns over in a way that implies negative densities at some distance from the galactic plane. What I would like to do in this brief note is to suggest some possible reasons for this difficulty--specifically, that the types of stars used have been unsuitable.
