microRNAs in Normal Brain Physiology Any dysregulation at the cellular level, but also in the entire organism, is therefore harmful. The brain is a privileged organ in many ways, and interestingly, the majority of miRs are expressed in the brain. We describe miRs biogenesis in this chapter and focus on the role of cell-specific miRs in normal brain physiology and homeostasis.
