The Roche Dimensions of Rotating Gaseous Disks in Close Binary Systemsthe flows, we can easily evaluate, with the relation, the dimension of the rotating disk from the velocity. Application is made to emission disks in Algol-type close binaries and also to accretion disks in cataclysmic variables.

The Young Phenomena within the Large Magellanic CloudDoradus nebula and R136 become the nucleus of the young spiral structure formed in this way. Interstellar velocities over a range of 400km s.within this central complex could be driven predominantly by the stellar wind and radiation pressure of R136 alone, supplemented by all other sources.

The Dynamical Effects of Hypersonic Stellar Winds on Interstellar Gasstructure of galactic and extragalactic HII regions, the production and maintenance of density fluctuations within nebulae, and the formation of large scale loop structures in the plane of the galaxy. The emphasis throughout the review is on simple semi-qualitative models of various wind related phenomena.

Dynamics of the Galactic FountainThe visitor to Zdenek’s office will have noticed a cupboard fixed to the outside wall. It is filled with theses written by former students of the Department. Even though the building is immensely strong and the cupboard well made I have often worried that the weight of knowledge stored inside it would one day bring it down.
