描述This book constitutes the proceeding from IEEE EMBS International Student Conference (ISC) held online in Zabrze, 11-12th December, 2020. The conference was organized in cooperation between Students from Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice, Poland) and AGH University of Science and Technology (Kraków, Poland). Each submission included in this proceeding was subjected to a review process and accepted by the Conference Program Committee..IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is the world’s largest international society of biomedical engineers. The organization’s 12,000 members reside in some 97 countries around the world. ,Adipocytokine Vaspin Stimulates the?Migration Process in Different Colorectal Cancer Cell Lines,nder vaspin treatment in HCT116 (Duke’s stage A), in LS-180 (Duke’s stage B), and the weakest in HCA-2 (Duke’s stage C), in comparison to the untreated control cells. Metalloproteinase gene expression in cell lines was connected to cancer invasiveness and Duke’s grading system for colorectal cancers.

Automated External Contour-Segmentation Method for Vertebrae in Lateral Cervical Spine Radiographs,ic diffusion filter) on the quality of the results was also investigated. The method’s efficiency was tested on a dataset containing 11 lateral cervical spine radiographs. The results show that the method has the potential to become an automatic tool used by physicians to determine the shape of vertebrae.

An Algorithm for Matching Binary Airway Trees in 3D Images, tree. Due to transformation, the coefficient increased by up?to 30%. These results show that in the case of one patient, the proposed method can be an alternative to classical image registration approaches.

,Nuclei Detection in Images of?Hematoxylin and Eosin-Stained Tissues Using Normalization of Value Chrrently they have to perform this kind of time-consuming tasks. This article presents an approach to nuclei segmentation and detection using the transfer from RGB color space to HSV and normalization of Value channel. It also presents the results of different methods of binarization after normalizing Value channel.
