A Simple Mathematical Model of a Slurry,pending on whether they are lighter or heavier than the liquid. If solid forms at one level, releasing latent heat, and then migrates vertically and melts, absorbing latent heat, the net effect is a vertical transport of heat in the direction opposite to the motion of the solid. This is equivalent to the heat-pipe effect.

On the Hydrodynamic Limit of a Scalar Ginzburg-Landau Lattice Model: The Resolvent Approach,ential of the equilibrium state be inhomogeneous in space. We show that the macroscopic fluctuations vanish in the hydrodynamic limit, and the limiting profile of the mean spin satisfies a nonlinear diffusion equation. Some very recent results and the main ideas of the proofs are summarized.

Stochastic Modelling of a Dilute Fluid-Particle Suspension,ticles are treated as point forces and only three particle interactions are included. Under several approximations it is shown that the two particle distribution separates into a product of functions of distance between the pair and of angle between the pair and the vertical.

Remarks on the point interaction approximation,ong with the boundary conditions on them by an inhomogeneous term in the differential equation which is then to hold evrywhere. As the name Point Interaction suggests, the effect of the inclusions is localized so the approximation is valid for small volume fractions. In this paper we shall consider the heat conduction problem as follows.
