Exploring the Structure of Broadcast News for Topic Segmentation topic classification stage. The automatic segmentation is currently being compared with the manual segmentation done by a professional media watch company. The results are very promising so far, specially taking into account that no video information is used.

Annotated Corpus of Polish Spoken Dialoguesn manually corrected. At the concept level, the annotation scheme comprises about 200 concepts from an ontology designed specially for the project. The set of frames for predicate level annotation was defined as a FrameNet-like resource.

Building a Morphosyntactic Lexicon and a Pre-syntactic Processing Chain for Polish able to deal with the XCES format both as input and output, hence allowing to improve XCES corpora such as the IPI PAN corpus itself. Shallow Parsing of Transcribed Speech of Estonian and Disfluency Detectiondification of grammar and additional methods improved the recall from 97.5% to 97.6% and precision from 91.6% to 91.8%. Also, the paper gives a detailed analysis of the types of errors made by the parser while analyzing the corpus of disfluencies.

Efficient Parsing Using Recursive Transition Networks with Outputxicon. Efficient parsing algorithms are needed to minimize the temporal cost associated to the size of the resulting networks. We focus our algorithms on the RTNSO formalism due to its simplicity which facilitates the manual construction and maintenance of RTNSO-based linguistic data as well as their exploitation.
