The Search for the Active Center of the Gonadotropins,ypeptide hormones do not enter the target cell. However, this theory cannot accommodate the newly published data showing the entry of the tropic hormones into their target cells with an activation of enzymes in the cytoplasm and chromatin. Petrusz (1978) has discussed this intracellular action of gonadotropins.
