Utilizing HPC technology in 3D cardiac modeling,ditions, thus offering medical added value in the areas of operation planning, wall motion study and 3D manipulation of cardiac structures. HPC technology was utilized in the 3D modeling procedure in an effort to minimize total system response time and to result in a system applicable in every day medical practice.

Airport simulation using CORBA and DIS,nd the scalability of the overall approach..The evaluation shows that CORBA and DIS are well suited for distributed interactive simulation purposes because of their adequate performance, high scalability, and the high-level programming model which allows to rapidly develop and maintain complex distributed applications.

Integrated CAD/CFD visualisation of a generic formula 1 car front wheel flowfield, well with experimental visualisation, and was useful in optimising a front spoiler. The time taken to move from an initial geometry definition to a CFD solution was reduced from typical times, for the types of geometry tested, by a factor of about five.

The impact of workload on simulation results for distributed transaction processing, a theoretical level and we indicate how the differences observed influence performance evaluations in simulation experiments. The results imply that performance of different load distribution algorithms essentially depends on the workload processed.

MPI-based parallel implementation of a lithography pattern simulation algorithm,The algorithm was tested on three different platforms: IBM SP-2 running AIX, SGI Onyx 2 running IRIX 6.4, and a LINUX cluster of Pentium-233 workstations. The paper presents the results of these tests and also provides a comparison with those obtained with Mathcad (on Windows 95) and serial C (on Unix) implementations.
