Assessment of CFD Predictive Capability for?Aeronautical Applicationsady Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes and Scale-Adaptive Simulations are carried out to predict the flow physics of such complex geometry arrangements. The simulation results show a satisfactory agreement with a wide range of experimental data.

Numerical Experiments for Quantification of Small-Scale Effects in Particle-Laden Turbulent Flowre kinetic energy of the unresolved scales is lower than average. This effect was so far neglected in most LES models for particle-laden flow. Furthermore, the results show that locations for particle clustering and mechanisms leading to clustering are dominated by large-scale dynamics, a promising result for LES.

Vorticity Statistics in Fully Developed Turbulencect numerical simulations. A parallel pseudospectral code is used to to obtain well-resolved numerical simulations of homogeneous isotropic turbulence. The results yield a consistent description of the vorticity statistics and provide insights into the structure and dynamics of fully developed turbulence.

Starting from a series of microbenchmarks to single out performance limitations, we apply the gained insight to optimize sparse MVM implementations, reviewing serial and OpenMP-parallel performance on state-of-the-art multi-core systems.

Capability of FDEM for Journal Bearings with?Microstructured Surface with different microstructure for Reynolds number .=24,500, and we also give a global error estimate for each of the cases. This shows the quality of the numerical solution and is a unique feature of FDEM. Furthermore, we demonstrate the scalability of the code.
