Postulate

Class 1OMP subtyping of meningococcipresence of class 1 OMP specific epitopes using a whole-cell-ELISA. McAbs specific for P1.1, P1.2, P1.3, P1.9, P1.15, P1.16 and McAbs with more cross-reactive activity were included. Most strains could be subtyped by the McAbs used and a fairly complete subtyping system can be realized in the near future.

Overall, 90.9% of the 2b strains contained either the P5.Ham-A or P5.Ham-Bl epitope while 37.7% of the strains contained both epitopes.
