The Theory and Application of a New Method of Detecting Chromosomal Rearrangements in ,rom nuclear detonations. The method, itself, is an outgrowth of studies of the bithorax pseudoallelic genes near the middle of the right arm of the third chromosome (Lewis, 1951). It will be called the “bithorax” method. Results of applying it to the detection of X-ray induced rearrangements will be considered first.
