Blair D. Siegfried,Michael E. Scharfrties of modified polymers as a function of salt (NaCl, KSCN), temperature (20–60°C) and shear rate (0.1–1000 s.) are explained by the existence of hydrophobic interactions. These latter are reinforced in the presence of water structure makers (NaCl).

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-662-60690-2 Simplified kinetics equations were derived for the three stages of process and the feasibility of these equations was evaluated. A simple rheological evaluation method was elaborated to calculate the rate constants from the measured rheological parameters. The method gave good results.
