Introduction to Composite Materials,ial Seattle experience with autologous marrow transplantation as treatment for patients with relapsed or resistant malignant lymphoma and compares this approach with our previously published experience using syngeneic and allogeneic transplantation in a similar group of patients (3–5).

We report here results of studies designed to identify a method of concentrating human serum without loss of its biologically active Ep content, and when unsuccessful in this endeavour, studies were initiated to determine why Ep activity is invariably lost after concentrating human sera.

Stromal Cell Lines from Mouse Bone Marrow: A Model System for the Study of the Hemopoietic Microenvition directed a number of investigators to produce continuous stromal cell lines (8 , 9, 10–20). In this communication I shall summarize the properties and biofunctions of stromal cell lines obtained in our laboratory which appear to represent distinct subtypes of bone marrow microenvironment cells (18–20).

Lake Prespa, Northwestern Greeces unable to support growth and recolonization of cell lines derived from individual Type I colonies. The fact that each factor seems to support the formation of a different type of colony implies that each acts either on different CFU-TL or on CFU-TL at different stages of maturation.
