Genetics of the Immune Response that the red cell count increases in persons residing in the thin atmosphere of high altitudes. The hypothesis proposed to explain these phenomenon was that hypoxia directly effects erythrocyte cell precursors in the bone marrow to increase red cell production.

The Heterogeneity of Macrophage-Granulocyte Precursor Cell Populations of the agar colonies suggests the presence of several subpopulations. Attempts have been made to describe some of them (11,12,14,15). It has not yet been determined whether all these different granulocyte-macrophage (GM) precursor cells are stimulated by the same colony-stimulating activity (CSA).

Local Control of Mast Cell Differentiation in Micediation and bone marrow cell transplantation, whereas most of the mast cells in the intestinal tract were of the donor type 12 weeks after transplantation (11). Thus, there is the possibility that the differentiation of bone marrow-derived precursors of mast cells is under local tissue control.
