K. Thilak Pon Jawahar,Judith BetsyEstimating equations are an ad hoc procedure for the construction of estimators. Notwithstanding their practical usefulness and an extensive literature on this subject, there is no theory of estimating equations, making a “method” out of an “ad hoc procedure”.
