The Province of MalukuIn this chapter, the Province of Maluku (Indonesia) is introduced. After pointing out the historical development, the current energy situation is presented. It becomes clear that the province is almost completely dependent on fossil resources. This also results in substantial greenhouse gas emissions.

Methodology for the AtlasThis chapter presents the general strategy for creating an energy atlas. All relevant energy inputs have to be mapped and visualized. For this purpose, statistical and spatial data have to be combined.
