Sandeep Maithani,Hamde Narayan Shankarpproaches, as the practical experiences presented in the chapter show. The presented solutions constitute a review of several research projects. An analysis regarding the application opportunity of these solutions at existing Romanian building stock is also presented, considering a fast mass retrofitting strategy.

Claudia Eckert,Rafaela Hillerbrand sector is to reduce the amount of nonrenewable energy consumed during the operation stage from the life cycle of a building for providing a proper level of indoor conditions. In order to do so, it is first needed to fully come to grips with the general concepts surrounding energy-efficient buildings.

Therefore, it is necessary for architects and engineers to have the basics for applying the LCC analysis and to include it in the design phase of a building.
