Genotoxicity of Airborne Suspended Matter Determined by in Vitro and in Vivo Short-Term Assaystegy, at the first step a combination of in vitro tests detecting point mutations in bacteria as well as chromosome damage in mammalian cells is proposed. It is specifically stressed that after a positive response in vitro the next assays should be conducted in vivo. At this step mouse bone marrow micronucleus assay is most recommended.
