Pretreatment Processes of Molasses for the Utilization in Fermentation Processessses, i.e. acid hydrolysis of sucrose, precipitation of metal ions, removal of organic acids by ion exchange resins, and entrapment of metal ions in solution. Acid hydrolysis was favourable for glutamic acid fermentation, while the use of diluted and centrifuged molasses was advantageous for alkaline protease fermentation.
