Improvement of emission factors,rk was to lead to an improvement of emission factors and thus to an overall improvement of the accuracy of emission data and to quantify and reduce uncertainties. The pollutants covered include anthropogenic and biogenic precursors of ozone, primary and secondary aerosols and acidifying substances.

The next focus of the GENEMIS work was on evaluation of emission data, in particular to assess uncertainties of data and methods and to validate and verify emissions. In the following sections, these aspects of the GENEMIS work will be elaborated on in detail.
