Electrical Activity in Injured Peripheral Nervesrolled experimental conditions. This paper is concerned primarily with the reaction of the parent neuron to damage and the relation of functional changes in the neuron to repair and regeneration of the lost axon and to alterations in the level of neural activity.

The Acetylcholine Receptor and Neural Control of Its Distribution (clusters) of the muscle fibre membrane are not continuous but are divided by AChR-poor regions. In many species, the post-synaptic membrane is enfolded and the ACh-rich regions form a crest of the folds and the AChR-free regions are in their depth (Fertuck and Salpeter 1976).

Neural Activity and the Reorganization of Motor Units in Reinnervated Skeletal Muscles (Brown et al. 1981). Sprouting provides a relatively rapid and effective restoration of muscle function, but it is unsatisfactory because the sprouted motor units are expanded. Fine motor control is therefore further compromised.
