Notes on Simuliidae (Diptera) in Sri Lanka,nd in the literature (Brunetti 1912) of adult simuliids of both sexes being collected at Peradeniya in 1911. A few additional adults were collected from 1915–1929, some of which (14) are in the National Museum of Sri Lanka (Colombo), others in the BMNH, and two in the Berlin Museum (Enderlein 1921).

Composition and origin of the ground beetle fauna (Coleoptera, Carabidae),began the taxonomy, but completed only a small part of the task. Despite the lack of formal taxonomy, it is the purpose of the present paper to provide a preliminary analysis of our present knowledge of the Sri Lankan ground-beetle fauna in terms of biogeography and natural history and contrast it w
