The Middle East: Egypt, Israel, Jordan,e many ways that feminism lurks in unexpected places. I have always been interested in exploring less obvious feminist disruptions found in a wide variety of classical, postmodern, and postcolonial international films. The films and filmmakers who are not so obviously read as feminist or Marxist seem to find their way onto my radar.

White colonial hegemony is exposed as malignant and dangerous to men and women, especially those at the bottom of the spectrum of the class system. The films are celebrated as overlooked masterworks of feminist aesthetics ofpostcolonial opposition.
