Survey of Desulfurization Processes for Coal Gas, sorbents and reactor types either tested on lab-, bench- as well as on pilot-plant scale are presented. The sorbents discussed are mainly oxides of transition metals either pure, mixed or deposited on an inert carrier. Regeneration performance of the sorbent and the regeneration off-gas composition are also taken into account.

Removal of H2S from coal gas: effect of various parameters on the desulfurization efficiency,his paper, the influence of various parameters related to the type of sorbent, the type of reactor, and the required process conditions, are discussed, and elucidated for the promising iron-oxide based sorbents as a typical example.
