Theseincluderail-to-rail input stages,rail-to-rail output stages, intermediatestages,protectioncircuitry and frequency compensation techniques.Ofeachof these,various implementations are examined. Furthermore,thebookdiscussesrealizationsinsiliconofthe amplifiers..Thedesignandimplementationoflow-voltagebipolar OperationalAmplifiers (OpAmps)isfullypresented.Alowsupply voltage isnecessarybecausethetendencytowardschip components of smallerdimensionslowers the breakdown voltage of these components. Further,alow supply voltage is favorable because it enables operation of theOpAmpfromjustonesingle battery cell. The bipolar technology ischosen,becauseit is more suited for operation at low-voltages thanthe MOS technology..Thecommon-modeinputvoltage of the OpAmp must be able to have anyvaluethatfitswithinthesupply voltage range. Input stages arediscussedwhichareable to realize this at supply voltages down to1.8 V, as well as down to 1 V..Theoutput voltage of the OpAmp must be able to have any value withinthesupplyvoltagerange.Oneofthe1V output stages that isdiscuss
