Cardiac Mechanics II: Heart Valves potential for reforming design curriculum in higher education is also discussed. Based on the findings of the study, the chapter proposes a teaching framework that promotes experiential learning of social design as a dynamic teaching mode for design curricula in higher education.

Rooted in these approaches, our examination of current research foregrounds critical dispositions for education. In particular, we highlight how designers in various professional practices have emphasized the possibility of creating social futures that celebrate positivity, inventiveness, empathy, and pragmatism.

Looking Inside the Box to Think Outside It: Contextualizing Design Thinking a “doer method” but a cognitive process with a long research tradition. We argue for a synthesis of both perspectives in teaching and learning practices. In doing so, we present a pedagogical approach grounded in game-based learning to mediate an integrative perspective to design thinking, using an example from a higher education business class.
