In this chapter I use scientometry, particularly the number of citations of his papers by other papers and the evolution of these citations over time, to assess the influence, as measured by this quantitative marker, of the works of David Bohm in the physics community.

,From Wilkes-Barre to a Physics Ph.D. at Berkeley (1917–1945),dy exhibited an outstanding talent for mathematics and science.?When he arrived at Berkeley, he had already consolidated two intellectual features which would characterize his whole life. He had a style to do physics and was not concerned only with science as for him science was part of a larger picture involving society at large.

,From the Causal Interpretation to the Wholeness and Order—The First Stage of the London Years (1960he quantum. It was not a quick transition as only in early 1970s the ideas of wholeness and order coalesced as a research program. While he kept up his duties as physics professor, his attraction to physics as it was being practiced dwindled, in particular due to his estrangement with plasma and solid physics as they were being practiced.
