Two Commercial DBMSIn chapters 6 to 8 we have discussed the component parts of a DBMS in vendorindependent terms. In chapter 9 we discussed the distribution of components and data. In this chapter we provide an overview of two prominent commercial DBMS, one relational the other object-oriented. Our aim is to illustrate the functionality of existing DBMS products.
