Reengineering Library Datauch a library catalogue and to prepare its data for later integration into a union catalogue and shows the three-phase approach that was used. It has proven useful to remodel the data and to store it intermediately as well as to reverse engineer the sourcesystem to reconstruct the conceptual data model.

Generalization Without Reorganization in a Simple Object Oriented DBMS by generalization of existing ones since these are expensive and extremely time consuming operations. Second to avoid reorganizations by reducing schema transformations by using generalization. Finally the possibility of reusing existing database schema, objects and programs is guaranteed.

Extensional Issues in Schema Integrationen there are no dependencies between the component databases. We also extend our methodology to deal with those cases in which, in addition to this oif, existence interdependencies are to be specified and enforced. The powerful abstractions of our BLOOM model are used in both cases.

These systems, as defined in [.] have limited global functions which consists of mainly simple data exchange using standardized communication protocols. In addition, these systems do not support full database functionality.
