Simalur,On the island of Simalur two languages are spoken, a fact which already struck K. F. H. van Langen during his visit there in 1881 (161); these are . spoken with local differences in the districts Tapah, Simòl(fā)ul and Lekòn, and . in the districts Salang and Sikhul., where according to tradition the population originally came from Nias.
