Decoding Phantom Limb Neuro-Mechanical Function for a New Paradigm of Mind-Controlled Bionic Limbsents an alternative method based on the authors’ recent findings. That is, a biomimetic decoder comprising a computational model that explicitly synthesizes the dynamics of the musculoskeletal system as controlled by EMG-derived neural activation signals.

This enables users to grasp a wide range of objects in one specific hand preshape eliminating the need for multiple switching between different grasps. The performance of the designed hand is evaluated through evaluation criteria used for prosthetic hands.
