Control of Laminar-Turbulent Transition for Skin Friction Drag Reduction,and illustrated by experimental results obtained in wind tunnel or in free flight conditions. Wave cancellation techniques are also presented. An important part of the paper is devoted to the use of the linear stability theory as a practical tool for transition prediction.

Developments in Stability Theory,isk, and the stability of a range of wake flows. All these situations apply very much to parallel flows, however, and in order to handle non-parallel flows one must find ways of connecting the local, quasi-parallel properties of the flow to the global dynamics.
