A Comparison of Spectral Subtraction and Polarization Modulation Spectroscopy for Use in Deformationational spectroscopy of polymers has been evaluated. Unless special circumstances are considered, comparison of the two techniques does not provide an overwhelming advantage for modulation that would favor it over the simpler subtraction technique.
