The Organisation of Urodynamic Units, butyrate, and terpenoids. In this chapter, we review the metabolic pathways for assimilation of C1 gases in cyanobacteria, acetogens, and methanotrophs. We also summarize the metabolic engineering strategies for developing host strains for the production of chemicals from C1 gases.

In this chapter, an overview of the various halogenases is given and examples of how these can be applied to the production of biotechnologically important compounds.
