Perception-Based Lighting Adjustment of Image Sequences further optimization the above lighting parameters. By applying the proposed lighting model optimization on an image sequence, the neighboring frames become similar in brightness and contrast while features are enhanced. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is illustrated on the detection and tracking of facial features.

An Improved Template Matching Method for Object Detection orientation information is represented as an orientation map (OM) which is calculated from local gradient. We applied the proposed method to detect humans, cars, and maple leaves from images. The experimental results have shown that the proposed method outperforms the existing template matching methods and is robust against cluttered background.
