A Study on the Influence of Image Dynamics and Noise on the JPEG 2000 Compression Performance for Metest images are generated using Poisson statistics; the denoising utilizes a Monte Carlo noise modeling method. A hundred selected images are denoised and the compression ratio, using lossless and lossy JPEG 2000, is reported and evaluated.

https://doi.org/10.1057/9781137527318tep. The introduced technique was validated with the two dynamic synthetic phantoms simulated based on .C- and .F-labelled tracer distributions. From the quantitative point of view, TAC estimation from the segmented sinograms yielded more accurate results compared to the image-based segmentation.
