Remaking the World for Businessocess utility plant. In power generation, condensers are used almost exclusively for the condensation of steam at the exhaust end of steam turbines. In the process industries, condensers are more widespread, being used both for this duty and with distillation columns, heat recovery and reboilers and refrigeration plant.

Alfred Pick M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C.Furnaces firing a variety of fuels have been used for steam production since the beginning of the industrial era (around 1823 or so). Over the years since, they have developed in size and sophistication to the highly efficient equipment now in operation for power generation, district heating and process steam production.
