Modeling compaction and isostatic compensation in SEDSIM for basin analysis and subsurface fluid flinhomogeneous elastic plate, involving the buoyancy force of the underlying conventional basin analysis techniques. As an example application, the development of a delta was modeled over one million years and the resulting stratigraphic sequence was then buried beneath 3,000 meters of sand-rich sediments.
