Boundary Layer Turbulence and the Control by Suction,f a turbulent boundary layer which changes little in the flow direction and the presence of a feed back mechanism to maintain such boundary layer are conceivable, and it is experimentally verified that the turbulence can be controlled by a relatively small amount of suction which changes the balance of the feedback mechanism.

Two-Dimensional Nonlinear Saturation Behaviour of Instability Waves in a Boundary Layer at Mach 5,nd. The nonlinear saturation is characterized by a cascade of states with alternating high and low energy levels of the higher Fourier-modes. The system evolves on a slow time scale towards a steady state which appears to be different from the undisturbed laminar state.
