Colour Spaces for Colour Transferatistics of colour images and the ability of existing colour transfer algorithms to produce plausible results is investigated. This work aims to provide a better understanding of the performance of different colour spaces in the context of colour transfer.

For each of the illustrative examples, we highlight how the blend of physical insight and mathematical modeling, offer in the combination, advantages significantly greater than would be estimated as the sum of the individual parts, thereby justifying the title for this paper.
