描述The volume starts with comparative reservoir limnology anddeals with problems relating to tropical, semi-arid and temperatereservoirs. The second part concerns mathematical models ofreservoirs, including new techniques for investigating theirlimnology. In the third, onreservoir water quality management, the potential available in fishpopulation management for biomanipulation of reservoir water qualityis introduced. Limnology and management of reservoirs in Brazilgement..The introduction of ecotechnological measures to control, reduce eutrophication, suspended mater input and to recover water quality, is very urgent..Basic theoretical problems of reservoirs structure and function are discussed as well as the introduction of new techniques such as satellite image to improve management.

A.V. Mikhailov,V.H. Depuev,A.H. Depuevaia, but the competition was not sensitive to irradiance. The different roles of physiological and ecological factors appear clearly in the outcome. The simulation results coincide well with the existing ecological knowledge. This suggests that the assumptions used in the model identification do not involve major errors.

Alexander Warmuth,Gottfried Mannd number of observations decreased the uniqueness. This was considered to be due to multi-collinearity of the postulated parameter values and correlated measurements. The optimality and robustness of the solution is discussed. It is concluded that a comprehensive sensitivity analysis should precede implementation of the design.

Research Activities and Programs,simple method for characterization of reservoir stratification is outlined. Consequences of the results for water quality management are divided into three groups: consequences for the watershed, for the reservoir and for the drinking water treatment plant.
