Metal Heterodiffusion on Metallic Surfaces: Case of Pb on Cu,nd exchange with surface Cu atoms. Increasing the Pb coverage towards θ., we observe that Pb diffusion depends strongly on θ, evidencing the influence of Pb-Pb interactions. The appearance of ordered structures markedly affects the chemical diffusion coefficient. Above θ., the structure and morphology of the wetting layer influences Pb diffusion.
